Setup

[ Five steps ]

  1. Get the pre-patch forge files

    Mods need the game's forge files from before the 20 September update. Get them from Nexus Mods: #1040 Pre September 20th patch .forge files, or SMilEY's #1495 Pre-Patch Forge Files with Individual Buildtables, which most mods need. GRBFORGE checks your game and tells you if they are missing.

  2. Install GRBFORGE

    Windows: run the setup file. SmartScreen warns because the app is not code-signed yet — choose More info → Run anyway. It installs for your user only and needs no admin rights. Linux: make the AppImage executable (chmod +x) and run it.

  3. First run

    Confirm your game folder and your mods folder. GRBFORGE takes a snapshot of your game's forge files as your modding base, then a short tour shows you around.

  4. Install mods

    Add mods, choose their options and order, then press Install. It prepares a preview first — nothing is written yet — then backs up and writes. The Console shows what changed.

  5. Check it in game

    Launch Ghost Recon Breakpoint and look. Something off? Use Undo last, go back to a Restore point, or Recover last queue to bring your list back.

Updates

GRBFORGE checks for a new version when it starts and asks before installing. Every update is signed, and the app refuses one that fails the check. Updating never touches your game files.

Turn the check off with Check for updates automatically in OPTIONS, or use Check now any time. On Linux the AppImage updates itself in place and keeps the previous build beside it.
